Benefits of Language Learning
Needham's World Language Program design is based on the Colorado Department of Education World Language Standards, research by the Center for Applied Linguistics and recommendations of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
Learning a second language at an early age has a positive effect on intellectual growth and can enrich and enchance a child's mental develoipment. It leaves students with more flexibility in thinking as well as a greater sesitivity to language and listening. Learning a second language also improves a childs understand of his or her native language and gives the child the ability to communicate with people he or she would otherwise not have the chance. Many more doors are opened when a childs understands and appreciates people from other countries, as well as an increase in job opportunities.
